Responsibilities
- Maintenance: Perform equipment inspections and support corrective actions for deficiencies. Work with staff, managers, and upper management to prioritize repairs and maintenance based on shredder and facility needs.
- SHECS (Safety, Health, Environment, Compliance, Security):
- Ensure morning start-up meetings and toolbox talks are completed.
- Ensure monthly training is completed and materials are uploaded to the SHECS website.
- Complete all facility-required inspections and reporting accurately and on time.
- Follow up on outstanding corrective actions and investigations.
- Manage all EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) requirements to ensure compliance.
- Shredder Operations: Support production staff and supervision in operations and assist with managing outside contractors.
- Projects: Assist with planning and managing major repairs and projects at the shredder.
- Management of Mobile Equipment: Communicate equipment use and repairs with other departments. Ensure inspection reports are performed and concerns addressed.
- Reporting: Prioritize and communicate critical business information to regional management and subordinates in a time-sensitive manner.
- HR: Manage relations with the union workforce and assist with administering disciplinary actions as needed.
- Supervisor Shared Responsibilities:
- Manage the shredder workforce.
- Oversee safety meetings, toolbox talks, inspections, corrective actions, and incident investigations.
- Maintain facility appearance (shredder area).
- Demonstrate strong safety values, decision-making, organization, and self-motivation.
- Provide strong reporting and communication to management.

- Experience managing a union workforce is a plus.
