About the role
The Maintenance Shift Supervisor at KNAPP is responsible for managing a team of resident maintenance technicians, overseeing commercial activities, and providing industrial Electrical/Mechanical expertise. This role is part of a leadership team focused on maximizing equipment utilization and efficiency, and includes developing the Maintenance Team and implementing KNAPP processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain standards of service by ensuring quality communications with customers and colleagues.
- Responsible for team management involving interviewing, hiring, performance management, and terminations.
- Implement site quality, safety, and procedures.
- Partner with suppliers and ensure their maintenance visits are up-to-date.
- Ensure all company equipment is well cared for and maintained.
- Ensure accuracy of maintenance technicians' time sheets and documentation.
- Complete daily job numbers and reports accurately.
- Maintain communications with the Customer's site coordinator and employees.
- Respond to electro-mechanical faults and provide technical assistance.
- Respond to emergency calls from customers or supervisors.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and processes.
- Set up and calibrate precision automation equipment.
- Facilitate installation of conveyors and special machines.
- Facilitate meetings with the Resident Site Manager and/or Site Maintenance Manager.
- Provide maintenance service support to the team, co-workers, and the Customer's installed system.
- Log and address spare parts usage issues with the KNAPP spare parts team.
- Interpret and work with electrical circuit diagrams, mechanical drawings, and blueprints.
- Provide leadership and ensure safety for the team and all others in the facility.
- Coach and instruct as needed.
Requirements
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- A Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience of 5-10 years.
- Verifiable experience providing repairs on various types of machinery systems, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish and/or English/German) preferred, but not required.
