Maintenance Set-up I

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust (sizes and speeds), and troubleshoot packaging and production equipment such as:
  • Coding machines (code wheels, ink jets, etc.)
  • Tape machines
  • Check weighers (programming)
  • Bar code scanners (programming)
  • Stretch packers
  • Glue systems
• Work with Production to coordinate timely line change-over.
• Manage time to anticipate production needs and eliminate downtime.
• Complete paperwork required for line set-up, lock-out/tag-out, start-up inspection, and maintenance documentation.
• Identify possible mechanical problems and report them to the Maintenance Lead.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required by the company PM program.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Work to improve the effectiveness of the quality management system through the use of the quality policy, quality objectives, audit results, analysis of data, corrective and preventive actions.
• Instill a sense of quality through modeled quality behaviors and mindset.
• Elevate complaints and problems, seeking management assistance when needed.
• Ensure proper PPE and safety procedures are followed.
• Flexibly work other shifts; shifts may be 8, 10, or 12 hours as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic machine repairs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electricity.
• Able to read technical documents.
• Ability to work independently, without supervision.
• Ability to organize priorities and workload.
