About the role

Perform basic repair and maintenance of buildings and fixed and moveable equipment and fixtures. Perform semi-skilled mechanical trades work relating to the installation, operations, maintenance, and repair of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing/pipefitting systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic repair and maintenance of buildings, including fixed and moveable equipment and fixtures.
• Perform semi-skilled mechanical trades work relating to the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilating, and plumbing systems, equipment, fixtures, and units.
• Perform semi-skilled building trades work in carpentry, painting, glazing, masonry/tuck pointing, plastering, etc.
• Assist various journey-level staff in the completion of diverse tasks.
• Notify supervisor when repairs and installation tasks that may require advanced skills are identified.
• Assist with cost estimates, material orders, reports, and maintenance records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
• Two years of general maintenance experience (some or all may be required in a specific skill area such as carpentry, plumbing, or HVAC).
• Skill in the maintenance and operation of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Sufficient strength to perform heavy lifting and work on ladders on an occasional basis.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for certain positions.
• Depending on the nature of work performed, the incumbent may be required to wear a respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

Pay

Anticipated hiring range: $15.50–$20.09 per hour. Salary is determined by the individual’s combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm.
