About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to be professionally responsible for the thorough planning and preparation of all corrective and preventive maintenance work orders in the Batch Plant. This role ensures that craft technicians are set up for success prior to job execution by walking down work, identifying parts and resources, writing complete work order documentation, and coordinating with operations to understand scheduling constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Set the appropriate system condition on the work order, such as Unit Shutdown, to communicate scheduling constraints to the Scheduler.
  • Write clear, descriptive notification text including task description, unit condition required, and estimated duration.
  • Develop complete operational steps for each work order, including scaffolding, contractor work, confined space entry, and other special requirements, using appropriate SAP work centers.
  • Plan and document estimated man-hours for all electrical and mechanical craft.
  • Follow all SAP PM maintenance execution guidelines, populate all required fields, and maintain accurate user status throughout the work order lifecycle.
  • Identify all parts and materials required for planned jobs during the walk-down and ensure special or non-storeroom items are procured against the work order.
  • Work with operations, maintenance supervisors, the Plant Scheduler, and other stakeholders to identify windows of opportunity, resolve scheduling conflicts, and communicate job constraints clearly.
  • Identify and correct deficiencies in recurring preventive maintenance plans, including updating planned hours, descriptive text, titles, and SAP PM task list instructions.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a maintenance planner in an industrial or chemical plant environment.
  • Familiarity with industrial maintenance practices including lockout/tagout, confined space, scaffolding, and contractor management.
  • Strong written communication skills; ability to produce clear, actionable work order documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across operations, maintenance, and engineering functions.
  • Effective communicator with operations and maintenance leadership.

Benefits

  • Excellent Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage, available immediately.
  • Generous PTO.
  • 401K Match.
  • Wellness Reimbursement.
  • Parental Leave.
  • Career Development.
  • Company paid and voluntary Life and AD&D Insurance.
  • Short and long term disability.
  • Paid Holidays.
