PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating oil refineries and related facilities. We are seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to join our team at the Martinez Refinery in California.

About the role

The Maintenance Scheduler identifies scheduling requirements prior to making work available for execution. They will schedule maintenance activities, communicate with Operations, shared resources, and technical support, and update status with scheduling. The successful candidate will collaborate across refinery disciplines and departments to ensure all Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Pressure Equipment Integrity (PEI) maintenance items are scheduled and executed safely and efficiently based on site procedures, compliance due dates, and operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules for routine and non-routine maintenance using P6 Primavera throughout project phases
  • Manage RCM deferral forms to update P6 Primavera constraints
  • Coordinate closely with Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) to understand needs, establish priorities, and completion dates
  • Manage updates in P6 and SAP
  • Assure compliance of site and industry standards/procedures for process and personal safety
  • Understand P6 global changes, activity codes, and leveling parameters to establish manpower resource leveling
  • Manage middleware database (Impress) for SAP and P6 to ensure interface communication between them
  • Resource Loading and Resource Management in Primavera
  • Adhere to enterprise scheduling standards for development and implementation of schedules, ensuring standards are current (e.g., Work Breakdown Structure (WBS))
  • Manage schedules as projects progress through development and execution stages (e.g., updating schedules based on earned-value data from Field Construction Analysts and other sources of construction tracking and reporting information)
  • Assist with interpreting performance of scheduled activities and communicating issues to the Project Manager (e.g., analyzing impacts that schedule updates will have on baseline plans, ensuring resource requirements for schedules are incorporated at planning stages and continuously developed through the project lifecycle)
  • Develop and manage schedule performance indicators
  • Interface with various stakeholders on the project team and other key stakeholders to receive information required for accurate and timely critical-path management of project schedules
  • Track the status of various projects and prepare project milestone reports, obligation reports, validate cost status, and update Project Cost Plans
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) using multimedia platforms (P6, SAP, Excel, MS List, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint)
  • Compile, analyze, publish, and present local maintenance metrics
  • Review corporate metrics and contribute to their development
  • Facilitate daily and weekly scheduling meetings
  • Continuously improve metrics for validity, integrity, and meaningfulness to drive a more efficient routine maintenance organization
  • Work collaboratively across peer groups and stakeholders (Maintenance, Operations, Reliability, PEI, and all groups to support continuous improvement)

Requirements

  • 4 years of industrial scheduling experience
  • Experience running reports in P6 Primavera and using SAP
  • Ability to climb ladders, walk up and down steps, and lift 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work in the following conditions:
    • At heights
    • In compact and confined spaces
    • Outside in inclement weather
    • While wearing a respirator or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
  • Participation in callout/standby coverage
  • Occasionally, an altered work schedule over an extended period may be required (maintenance outages and turnarounds)
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Must have an active TWIC card or be able to obtain one

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of refinery planning, coordinating, and/or scheduling experience
  • Strong understanding of refinery work processes
  • Experience in planning and estimating maintenance work activities
  • Experience with turnaround/outage scheduling
  • Experience in scheduling, reconciliation, maintenance of project funds, and preparing reports on a recurring basis
  • Experience developing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Program Summary Master Schedules (PSMS), and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Experience with industrial construction projects and critical path scheduling method
  • Advanced Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 tool experience
  • Experience working with Strategic Systems Programs
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools (Power BI)
  • Project Management Certification

Pay

The salary range for this position is $92,846.05 - $164,756.20. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, job-related skills, and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate’s compensation.
