Position Overview
The Maintenance Staff is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of managed properties. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical ability, problem-solving skills, and the flexibility to operate across a portfolio of luxury and mid-scale properties.
Key Responsibilities
- General Maintenance & Repairs
- Carry out day-to-day maintenance inspections
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from front desk, housekeeping and management
- Assist in coordinating external contractors when required
- Preventative Maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify and address maintenance issues proactively
- Maintain equipment tools and machinery in good working condition
- Property Upkeep & Presentation
- Ensure all properties are maintained to a high standard in line with brand and guest expectations
- Support property upgrades, refurbishments, and seasonal preparations
- Assist with furniture assembly fixture installation and general improvements
- Winter Operations (Seasonal Priority)
- Perform snow clearing and ice management across access roads, parking areas and entryways
- Operate snow removal equipment (snow blowers, shovels, etc.) safely and efficiently
- Ensure safe access for guests, staff and vehicles at all times
- Onsen & Facilities Support (if applicable)
- Assist in the basic operation and monitoring of onsen systems and water facilities
- Conduct routine checks on heating, water systems and ventilation
- Escalate technical issues to specialist contractors where required
Requirements
- Experience in maintenance or a related field
- Practical skills across multiple trades (basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry preferred)
- Experience operating maintenance tools and machinery
- Reliable, proactive, and hands-on approach
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality of work
- Ability to work under pressure, particularly during peak seasons
- Flexible and willing to work across multiple properties
- Either English or Japanese (both very advantageous, but not essential depending on team structure)
- Valid driver's license (required)
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and working outdoors in winter conditions
Working Conditions
- Shift-based work including weekends and public holidays
- Outdoor work required in all weather conditions, especially during winter
- On-call availability may be required for urgent maintenance issues

- Monthly Salary: Subject to experience
