As a Maintenance Staff Member, you’ll ensure all mechanical systems and equipment are operational and properly maintained, and all common areas are kept clean, aesthetically appealing, and disinfected.
Responsibilities
- Routinely walk floors, including the roof, to check for problems and report back to supervisors.
- Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
- Maintain a working relationship with building staff.
- Paint all common areas and perform touch-ups as required; inspect areas needing paint and advise the manager.
- Complete daily work orders as scheduled.
- Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition.
- Perform casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items, following appropriate safety procedures.
- Perform minor maintenance, replacement, and repairs in carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other building repairs through daily scheduled work orders.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform maintenance, replacement, and repair in areas of carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other minor building repairs (no permit required).
- Properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to use.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
- Two years of general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance, or handyman work.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Multiple language fluency is desirable.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures.
- Work in an upright standing position for long periods; ability to reach overhead and have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
- Work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and climbing stairs.
- Navigate the property/building quickly and easily as required.
- Climb ladders and work at heights (up to 14 ft on A-frames and 21 ft on extension ladders).
- Work in different environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity).
- Repeat various motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Lift, pull, and push materials and equipment up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information verbally and in writing.
- Maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
Pay
$22.00 per hour.
Schedule
Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Tuesday and Saturday off.
