Maintenance Repairman 1 - William Penn Forest District, Berks County
Description of Work
This role supports repairs, construction, and upkeep across the William Penn Forest District. It helps maintain safe buildings, roads, trails and equipment to ensure smooth daily operations. As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Building Maintenance: Assist with repairs and improvements to district offices, cabins, pavilions, and other facilities
- Road And Trail Care: Support upkeep of roads, trails, boundary lines, and parking areas
- Equipment Upkeep: Help complete preventative maintenance and minor repairs on automotive and motorized equipment
- Tool Management: Keep construction, electrical, plumbing, and masonry tools in good working condition
- Fire Support: Assist with wildfire prevention, detection, and suppression activities as part of forest fire duties
- Program Assistance: Support inventory tasks, exhibit construction, pest management, and other district programs
Qualifications Required
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
