Maintenance Repairer 1

About the role

Northwestern State University is currently accepting applications for the Maintenance Repairer 1 position. This role supports the daily grounds maintenance operations of the University's nearly 900-acre campus. The Maintenance Repairer 1 helps ensure that the campus environment remains clean, safe, and visually appealing for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Perform general grounds maintenance, including mowing and trimming tasks
• Maintain landscaped areas, including flower beds, shrub trimming, and minor tree trimming
• Aid with basic irrigation system maintenance and minor repairs
• Empty exterior trash receptacles and assist with litter removal across campus grounds, including fallen limb pickup
• Operate tractors, mowers, and other grounds maintenance equipment for light grounds work
• Aid with nuisance wildlife management activities when necessary
• Perform pressure washing and other exterior cleaning as needed
• Complete other outdoor maintenance and grounds duties as assigned

Requirements

• One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance
• Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses
