Maintenance Repairman 1 - PennDOT Winter Maintenance

About the role

This position supports PennDOT facilities by completing cleaning tasks, assisting with minor repairs, and helping maintain safe outdoor areas. The role also contributes to winter readiness by keeping entrances and walkways clear.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning Tasks: Wash floors, polish surfaces, and maintain lavatories and supplies
• Snow Removal: Shovel snow and clean walkways to keep outdoor areas safe
• Basic Repairs: Replace bulbs, make simple equipment repairs, or report repair needs
• Material Handling: Move furniture, deliver supplies, and assist with errands
• Record Accuracy: Record time charges and equipment usage correctly
• Safety Awareness: Follow safety practices and identify hazards in the work area

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
• Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

• Work Schedule: Seasonal full-time employment
• Work Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
• Shifts and Days: Subject to change due to weather/season
