PRIMARY WORK SHIFT
This position works night shift; 11PM- 7AM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions.
- Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
- Tests, installs and repairs plant equipment and machinery.
- Performs preventive maintenance and safety inspections on the equipment and machinery.
- Performs electrical inspection, repair and troubleshooting on production and support equipment and plant power systems (PLC, I/O, electronics, motors, and instruments).
- Performs basic mechanical work as required, including but not limited to sheet metal layout, fabrication, buildings and grounds, weights and scales, welding, pipefitting.
- Documents work performed and communicates work activities to appropriate personnel.
- Reads, studies and reviews manuals, schematics and drawings and relevant literature to stay current on new equipment and the updating of existing equipment.
- Provides on-call emergency repair service for all areas of the mill.
- Takes work assignments from the Maintenance Reliability Planner.
- Consults with immediate supervisor concerning issues, unusual problems or developments and clarification on direction and scope of efforts.
- Uses test instruments, programming devices, personal computers, programming and diagnostic software, measuring devices, hand tools, power tools.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a Highschool diploma or GED is required.
- At least 5 years of industrial maintenance work experience, including both electrical and mechanical.
- Candidates must have documented Electrician’s certification.
- Ability to work any shift, weekends, & overtime to support business needs, sometimes on short notice.
- Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures and plans. Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning ability: Must use solid judgment when making decisions. Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
