Maintenance Repairer 1-2 (Facilities)

About the role

The Maintenance Repairer 1-2 is responsible for the maintenance of facilities. Tasks include facility inspections, repairs to buildings, grounds, outbuildings, street lighting, and mechanical equipment. Work must comply with SLFPA-E policies and procedures, including safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Performs facility inspections and makes repairs to buildings, grounds, out buildings, street lighting, and mechanical equipment.
  • Maintains a/c & heat systems, including chillers, water towers, and air handler units, ensuring proper pressures and temperatures.
  • Performs monthly filter cleaning and annual PM routines, including maintenance on ice makers and shop equipment.
  • Assists with plumbing services, including repairs, preventive maintenance, and quarterly inspections of flood control valves.
  • Works with electricians to maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues, changing bulbs/ballasts and determining safe use of equipment.
  • Manages overhead lighting, street lighting, portable lighting, sea wall lighting, and crosswalk lighting.
  • Trains to operate a forklift and man lift safely.

Requirements

  • One year of experience or training in building construction trades, maintenance, repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
  • Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include one year of experience or training in relevant fields, or six semester hours in related coursework. The official job specifications can be found here.
