Maintenance Repair Tech, Sr

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Repair Tech to join our liquid coatings facility in New Britain, CT. This role involves working closely with the Maintenance Engineer to ensure machines are running optimally. Ideal candidates should have some maintenance and fabrication experience, particularly in preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
• Follow instructions and read blueprints
• Safely work at heights
• Plan work and solve problems
• Make decisions based on measurable information
• Perform a variety of duties which may change often
• Operate machinery
• Repair pumps, large conveying augers, dust collectors, blast rooms
• Assemble machinery and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools
• May operate engine lathe or milling machine to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications

Requirements

• Experience constructing and/or repairing industrial machines
• Experience aligning machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs
• Experience repairing and lubricating machinery and equipment
• Basic Electrical knowledge and machine trouble shooting skills
• Welding experience
• 2+ years of maintenance experience

• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Welding certification (preferred)

Pay

The hourly rate range is $30-$35/hour. This is a general guideline reflecting a position based in CT. Market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.
