About the role

As a Sr Maintenance Technician at JLL, you'll serve as the technical backbone of our Reno portfolio, ensuring optimal performance of all building systems while delivering exceptional service to our tenants. This hands-on role combines preventative maintenance expertise with responsive problem-solving to maintain safe, efficient, and comfortable facilities. You'll work independently and collaboratively within our team to uphold operational excellence across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems. Your technical skills and commitment to safety will directly impact building performance, tenant satisfaction, and JLL's reputation for world-class facility management.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related grounds as it pertains to assigned buildings
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, and for the facility to keep these systems up to applicable standards
  • Perform predictive, planned, preventative and routine maintenance as well as equipment rounds, and service requests as directed
  • Perform maintenance in accordance with the JLL Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Assist with the development and improvement of preventative maintenance programs, schedules, work instructions, SOP's, and operational procedures
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with established work standards and practices
  • Establish work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product, suggesting changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, shop, or work crew
  • Determine and/or assist with analyzing and resolving work problems and achieving work goals
  • Maintain time and production records and customer service requests utilizing a variety of computer/technology tools
  • Be comfortable and flexible enough to work with a wide-ranging and changing scope of responsibilities while adhering to the constraints of procedures put in place to minimize the risk for human error
  • Team player with the desire to foster teamwork to help create a positive working environment
  • Control the daily operation of all mechanical equipment in the physical plant and buildings
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility to keep these systems up to applicable standards
  • Maintain responsibility for preventative maintenance, contracted maintenance, general maintenance and technical proficiency
  • Perform and/or complete all tenant service requests accurately and expediently
  • Evaluate building systems to monitor and to improve performance and operating efficiency
  • Comply with all policies and procedures established for the building, including safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace
  • Participate in the on-call engineer rotation for the portfolio of office buildings
  • Actively participate in emergency response procedures, technical and safety training programs
  • Perform all work using the proper safety equipment and in a safe manner

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and HVAC control systems in commercial facilities
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency with preventative maintenance programs and ability to perform equipment diagnostics and repairs
  • Strong understanding of building automation systems and ability to utilize computerized maintenance management and technology tools
  • Knowledge of safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials with consistent adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work independently with flexible scope of responsibilities while following established procedures to minimize risk
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to evaluate systems, recommend improvements, and implement solutions effectively
  • Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills and commitment to fostering a positive work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant technical certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or facilities management credentials)
  • Experience developing and improving preventative maintenance programs, schedules, work instructions, and SOPs
  • Background working in office building or commercial property environments
  • Familiarity with tenant service delivery and customer service best practices
  • Experience with emergency response procedures and participation in safety training programs

Reno, NV – Onsite

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Includes on-call availability once every 4-5 weeks (after training completion)
