Maintenance Repair Specialist 2 - Residential Life

About the role

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Maintenance Repair Specialist 2 in the Facilities Operations in Residential Life.

This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of repair and maintenance activities
• Lay out jobs and order materials
• Assist in the planning and implementation of projects
• Contribute to the overall maintenance and upkeep of residential facilities

Requirements

• Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades
• One year of journey level experience which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities
• One (1) year of journey level experience as a Maintenance Repair Specialist I in Nevada State service
• An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening for controlled substances

Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
