Maintenance Project Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Project Engineer will manage activities related to maintenance evolutions and maintenance support functions of the fleet. They will ensure the safe, proper, and efficient maintenance of the fleet in accordance with company policies and standards. The role involves managing and coordinating maintenance activities, planning and conducting major maintenance outages, providing support and training for WIN Waste Innovations' CMMS program, and supporting Engineering and Maintenance Departments in executing major and minor capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned projects and provide oversight.
• Coordinate work with outside contractors and engineers on specific projects as assigned, as well as in-house maintenance.
• Confer with Engineering Department to determine project details, such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions.
• Prepare specifications for bids, contracts, and rate estimations for new business.
• Manage contractors while working on projects.
• Monitor project schedules and obtain permits when required.
• Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and purchase documents, draw reviews, handle drawings and submittals, and perform field work.
• Support Engineering and Maintenance Departments in identifying and executing major & minor capital improvement projects.
• Develop and revise 5-year maintenance plans and budgets.
• Anticipate typical problems, identify potential or recurring problems, and take appropriate action.
• Troubleshoot equipment and assist in diagnosing problem areas.
• Assist with CMMS program updates, standard operating procedures revisions, and support training activities across the fleet.
• Participate in safety programs and fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
• Complete corporate and plant training programs within the prescribed timeframe.
• Follow standard safety procedures, correct safety and environmental hazards, read and understand lockout/tagout, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Communicate clearly and concisely in writing and verbally using intercom system, two-way radio, or face-to-face.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Five years of experience in the power generation industry with a minimum of three years of project management experience; experience in an incineration plant environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of steam turbine-generator operations, components, and maintenance practices.
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and familiarity with CMMS programs.
• Maintain all licenses as required by Local, State, Federal, Environmental and/or Health/Safety Regulatory agencies.

$X per hour or $Y per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
