Maintenance Program Manager
Summary of Job Duties
The Maintenance Program Manager works within the Facilities Management department to provide technical expertise, contractual oversight, and program management for a wide array of areas supporting facilities maintenance and utility operations. The role involves managing and optimizing preventive and/or predictive maintenance programs, tracking and planning deferred maintenance initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Developing scopes of work
- Oversight of service contracts and management of outside vendors to streamline service delivery across building categories including (but not limited to) roofing, fire suppression systems, elevators, HVAC, and pest control
- Supporting development of facility and utility operations-related procedures and best practices, including providing technical recommendations for UAF design standards, facilitating construction drawing reviews, and coordinating walk-throughs with project managers and maintenance staff during project turnover
- Cooking closely with the CMMS administrator and directors to optimize the department’s preventive maintenance program and utilization of the CMMS system
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education, or equivalent work experience
- At least four years additional experience in facilities maintenance, facility operations, utilities or facility services procurement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education facility operations, maintenance, or utilities
- Experience in vendor and contract management
- Experience with FAMIS, UA’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Experience with Workday
Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of campus operations and academic environments
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills
- Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing) and maintenance practices
- Familiarity with CMMS software and space management tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
- Knowledge and use of a CMMS/Work Order Management system, mobile technology
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs e.g., Email and spreadsheets
Additional Information
Salary Information: $61,735 - $69,452; Commensurate with education and experience
