Maintenance/ Production Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot high-speed PC-based production machinery used to process mail
• Create and perform or subcontract a preventative machinery maintenance program
• Ensure all equipment functions at its highest level of efficiency
• Maintain inventory of machine parts
• Negotiate with outside vendors to keep costs down
• Perform minor physical plant maintenance duties where feasible
• Act as the company’s Safety Officer
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Electro-mechanical background helpful
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• High school diploma or GED required; Trade School Associate degree preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone and in person
