About the Role

This position is accountable for supervision of the CF Industries Planning department. The Planning Supervisor will provide work direction and technical assistance for routine, shutdown, and project activities of the maintenance department. They will work closely with other departments to ensure safe and efficient execution of daily maintenance activities. The position contributes to the overall cost effectiveness and efficiency of work and is a member of the maintenance leadership team. The role involves leading safety meetings with CF team members and contractors while exemplifying CF safety culture and core values.

Responsibilities

  • Advocates for safety by taking a proactive approach and applies CF core values while supporting safety-related processes.
  • Leads turnaround planning/scheduling process ensuring all milestones and KPIs are achieved for a safe, on-time, and on-budget turnaround.
  • Participates in Job Safety Analyses and the development of safety action plans.
  • Assigns and directs work activities to meet schedule requirements and operational issues.
  • Ensures all maintenance work is performed in compliance with company standards and applicable regulatory agencies’ requirements.
  • Creates daily/weekly reports on schedule compliance and cost initiatives.
  • Develops KPIs and reports status for all maintenance/turnaround work.
  • Creates development plans for each team member, tracks progress, and provides feedback.
  • Addresses and resolves personnel issues and conflicts, if needed.
  • Analyzes problems, evaluates alternatives, and takes action.
  • Trains, coaches, and develops employees to maximize their performance.
  • Works with other departments for continuous maintenance process improvement.
  • Ensures planned work orders are technically completed and work packages developed before scheduling in the CMMS.
  • Exercises direct supervision over Planners while monitoring performance to ensure routine, PMs, and emergent repairs are planned and scheduled with necessary resources, parts, and safety criteria identified.
  • Provides technical and problem-solving assistance to various sections of the maintenance organization.
  • Handles multiple projects and support activities simultaneously.
  • Supports site EHS activities through compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies/procedures and active participation in EHS programs.
  • Prepares required weekly/monthly reports and maintains records relative to the department.
  • Assists management in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Becomes familiar with plant design specifications, drawings, and files to ensure accurate, safe, and practical results.
  • May perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum H.S. diploma or GED.
  • Experience in Routine/PM Planning/Scheduling, Turnaround Planning/Scheduling, and Capital Project Planning/Scheduling.
  • Proficient in PC software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and computerized maintenance management software (CMMS).
  • Excellent understanding of asset and project management.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to work hours dictated by plant conditions with limited supervision.
  • Safety-conscious, self-motivated, with proficient communication skills, exceptional work ethic, and strong attention to detail.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, or related technical discipline.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop working relationships in a team environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach focused on action.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including effective supervision and work organization.
  • Previous supervisory, team leadership, and/or turnaround planning experience.
  • Works safely to promote EHS and reliability goals of the plant and company.
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Good knowledge of asset maintenance, practices, and procedures.
  • Shows initiative and is results-oriented.
  • Ability to provide direction and work with others to achieve desired outcomes.
