Maintenance Planning and Scheduler

About the Role

Provides support for the Maintenance department through planning, organizing, and scheduling work for facilities and equipment while minimizing impacts on production. Monitors key performance indicators to advise changes in preventative and predictive maintenance decisions. Supports Maintenance and Facilities in scheduling maintenance tasks, considering availability of parts, tools, and production schedules. Uses analytical skills and critical thinking to improve departmental performance.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizing tasks and allocating resources efficiently.
• Coordinating preventative maintenance, repairs, and operational activities.
• Monitoring deadlines, milestones, and completion dates.
• Accommodating changes for emergency work order needs.
• Communicating timelines and expectations to supervisor/director.
• Tracking progress and resolving scheduling conflicts.
• Ensuring parts, materials, equipment, and resources are available as needed.
• Reviewing and prioritizing maintenance work orders.
• Purchasing maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies, equipment, tools, and spare parts.
• Obtaining quotes from vendors and comparing pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
• Creating and processing purchase orders.
• Ensuring purchases comply with company policies and budgets.
• Expediting orders to meet urgent maintenance needs.
• Tracking purchase orders from start to finish and ensuring timely deliveries.
• Verifying received materials match purchase orders and quality standards.
• Other duties as assigned by TAS Management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of maintenance coordination, facilities, or industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years in maintenance scheduling and planning.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment, facility systems, and preventive maintenance programs.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of CMMS knowledge and experience.
• Experience in high-paced industrial manufacturing environments.

Skills

• Ability to work independently and without constant supervision.
• Good communication skills, including written and verbal command of the English language.
• Ability to maintain professional and respectful relationships with internal and external customers.
• Ability to proactively plan assigned tasks to reduce equipment downtime.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with a computer.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
• Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions.
• Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading.
• Subject to inside environmental conditions.
