Responsibilities
- Develop detailed maintenance job plans for corrective, preventive, predictive, condition-based, and project maintenance activities.
- Plan work based on priorities established by the Maintenance Area Supervisor and Area Team.
- Own release-to-schedule readiness for all planned maintenance work orders.
- Develop complete work packages including labor estimates, craft requirements, tools, materials, permits, safety requirements, procedures, and contractor support requirements.
- Utilize craft knowledge, engineering resources, OEM documentation, equipment history, and field inspections to develop accurate and effective maintenance job plans.
- Maintain strong knowledge of systems, equipment, and manufacturing processes within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Support outage planning by defining work scope, sequencing activities, identifying constraints, and assisting in critical path planning.
- Review the maintenance backlog daily to ensure work orders are accurately defined, prioritized, and maintained within the CMMS.
- Verify work requests contain appropriate descriptions, asset assignments, priorities, and scope definitions.
- Remove duplicate work orders and improve overall backlog quality.
- Generate work requests for equipment requiring corrective maintenance when identified during routine activities.
- Maintain a minimum of two weeks of fully planned, ready-to-schedule, non-PM backlog within assigned areas.
- Maintain equipment history, job plans, and planning documentation within the CMMS.
- Support continuous improvement of CMMS data quality and work management processes.
- Support reliability improvement initiatives through development and optimization of preventive maintenance (PM), condition-based maintenance (CBM), and predictive maintenance programs.
- Optimize PM job plans utilizing Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles and criticality-based decision making.
- Develop standard job plans, PM procedures, CBM tasks, standard work instructions, and maintenance documentation.
- Analyze condition monitoring and predictive maintenance reports and generate follow-up work orders as required.
- Track CBM program effectiveness and support efforts to reduce equipment failures, downtime, and maintenance costs.
- Assist with asset reliability improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure frequently used spare parts are established and maintained within the storeroom inventory.
- Identify and coordinate procurement of required non-stock materials and services for planned work.
- Develop and stage maintenance kits for work where material readiness is critical to execution success.
- Verify kit completeness and readiness before scheduled maintenance activities and outages.
- Ensure all required materials, special tools, permits, drawings, procedures, and documentation are available before work is released for scheduling.
- Maintain organized and efficient kitting and staging areas that support maintenance execution efficiency.
- Participate in Gemba walks and readiness reviews for critical maintenance activities.
- Participate in pre-job walkthroughs to validate scope, safety requirements, access requirements, labor estimates, and material readiness.
- Review published schedules and verify planned work has appropriate labor and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisors, Schedulers, Operations, Engineering, and Reliability personnel to ensure successful execution of scheduled work.
- Support schedule compliance initiatives by identifying constraints and readiness gaps before execution.
- Provide planning support for outages, shutdowns, and major maintenance activities.
- Support equipment startup and return-to-service activities following planned outages and major maintenance events.
- Ensure work orders overseen by the planner are properly finalized and closed in accordance with plant work management standards.
- Capture execution feedback and incorporate improvements into future job plans and maintenance procedures.
- Update job plans, bills of materials, labor estimates, and maintenance documentation based on actual execution results.
- Update shift narratives, maintenance reports, and outage documentation as required.
- Participate in root cause analyses (RCA), corrective action development, and reliability investigations.
- Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures, one-point lessons, and maintenance best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintenance productivity, schedule compliance, reliability, and equipment availability.
- Ensure all planned work complies with Reynolds safety standards, environmental requirements, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Participate in and support daily, weekly, outage, and area team meetings.
- Support emergency breakdown events after stabilization by providing equipment knowledge, job plans, repair procedures, material identification, and technical planning assistance.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as backup for WEM Supervisors and other maintenance leadership positions as assigned.
- Support contractor safety and compliance requirements during maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or related technical discipline preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and manufacturing maintenance experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of maintenance, reliability, planning, scheduling, engineering, or supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a union manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Experience developing maintenance job plans, outage plans, work packages, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong knowledge of Work Execution Management (WEM) processes and maintenance best practices.
- Working knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling principles.
- Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Strong understanding of maintenance materials management, inventory control, and kitting processes.
- Experience utilizing maintenance KPIs including schedule compliance, PM compliance, backlog health, equipment availability, and maintenance productivity.
- Proficiency with CMMS systems, Microsoft Office applications, and maintenance reporting tools.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, Purchasing, and Contractor personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
