About the role
The role of the PM Maintenance Planner at Golden State Foods is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. The PM Maintenance Planner facilitates Opportunity-based work by having materials kitted and tasks available for short or no-notice shutdowns of individual equipment or rooms. They are responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordination of all plannable maintenance work performed within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources.
- Ensures that all internal beneficiaries of Maintenance receive timely, efficient, and quality service.
- Helps Operations balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance.
- Develops high level of expertise with CMMS system and how it works within the plant.
- Uses software needed for creating Visual Work Instructions, job plans, estimating jobs and maintaining the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Maintains materials and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Creates and maintains Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks list for each asset to ensure optimal machine uptime and performance.
- Creates and maintains Bills of Material (BOM) for all equipment.
- Able to effectively navigate and manage the CMMS work order backlog to create schedules.
- Works with plant operations team, production schedulers, and maintenance supervisors to schedule all maintenance work for the department based on established priorities and craftsperson availability.
- Effectively leads daily and weekly PM scheduling meetings.
- Works with vendors and contractors, in the performance of assigned duties.
- Verifies work order inventory, collects parts needed for work order completion and pre-stages parts for work orders (job packages/kits) in the staging area.
- Incorporates safety into all aspects of the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing facility.
- 1 year of experience in purchasing or similar duties.
- 1 year of experience in interacting with customers / Customer service.
- 1 year of experience in maintenance technician role and/or maintenance supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to effectively interact with various employees throughout the plant.
- Demonstrates influential leadership, decision making, and the ability to efficiently manage people and production needs.
- Business minded, people and results-oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.
- Self-starter, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Working knowledge of computer software tools to include word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.
- Maintenance background with exposure to a wide variety of maintenance areas, including, but not limited to, forming, packaging, power transmission, equipment installation, pump systems, fabrication and lubrication.
- Capable of working with vendors and holding them accountable for high levels of service with regard to availability, delivery and quality of items received.
- Reliable and self-motivated. Regular and predictable attendance is mandatory.
- Willing to work various hours and days as necessary to support the plant.
- Knowledgeable in warehouse concepts, spare parts inventory and procurement procedures.
- Understanding of periodic maintenance schedules, concepts and procedures to increase equipment lifespan.
