About the Role

The Maintenance Planner Analyst supports the maintenance department by managing data collection and information gathering to improve equipment capability, availability, and reliability. The role focuses on maximizing operating profit through effective planned maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of scope, and analysis of required planning level.
  • Estimates required hours, total work order duration, and skills needed for tasks.
  • Performs payroll entry and corrections into SAP as emergency backup and balances payroll to planned maintenance.
  • Plans jobs with appropriate detail for the skilled trades workforce, including procedures, equipment, and specialized tools.
  • Determines and arranges parts required for work and plans parts for projects to increase “wrench time” and efficiency.
  • Prints and delivers work orders to skilled trades in conjunction with the weekly work schedule.
  • Communicates with skilled trades post-job to improve future efficiency.
  • Coordinates priority setting with the management team, emphasizing input from operations personnel.
  • Maintains current bills of materials and accurately measures the maintenance backlog.
  • Manages equipment and repair parts data entry and ensures all work orders and maintenance log items are closed upon completion.
  • Participates in outage planning activities, including scope identification, scheduling, coordination, risk assessment, execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepares work schedules and pick lists for outages.
  • Provides temporal supervision to employees during off-duty periods of other supervisors.

Requirements

  • BS degree preferred; consideration given to equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree must be from an accredited U.S. college or university, or equivalent if awarded outside the U.S.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the skilled trades.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.
  • Supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Ability to communicate in English; bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • SAP experience is a plus.

Skills

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to perform internet research and interpret vendor manuals and drawings.
  • Strong communication skills with staff, vendors, OEM suppliers, and management.
  • Ability to perform cost analysis and work within a structured budget.
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports and deliver clear presentations.
  • Committed to safety and teamwork; highly motivated.
  • Ability to learn and apply maintenance best practices.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, environmental, and health regulations.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs and ladders, and work in varying plant environments (e.g., catwalks, wet/muddy areas, uneven surfaces).
