Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks including painting, drywall installation and finishing, basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, machine and equipment repair, building hardware repair, and other duties as assigned.
  • Troubleshoots and initiates repairs.
  • Works with the Director of Facilities to develop approaches to maintain and repair all aspects of the physical plant, both interior and exterior.
  • Aids in various project work as necessary.
  • Utilizes accumulated knowledge and analytical skills to solve unique problems that may arise.
  • Responsible and punctual.
  • Works independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Keeps supervisor informed as necessary.
  • Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all information and issues worked with.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.
  • Works safely and promotes a safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Walk up and down stairs.
  • Walk/stand for long periods.
  • Able to work on high ladders and personnel lifts.
  • A high school or equivalent trade school diploma.
  • 2 to 5 years of general building maintenance or building trades experience preferred.
  • A valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

Hours & Compensation

  • Scheduled during the day, with evening hours required on a per event basis.
  • This position is considered essential, reporting in inclement weather with the possibility of additional hours during inclement weather.
  • The position pays between $18.50 - $22.00 an hour, with wages determined based on factors such as candidate experience, qualifications, skill set, and internal equity.
