The Maintenance Person contributes to the hotel’s commitment to high-quality guest satisfaction and teamwork by safely and efficiently maintaining the property i.e. performs preventative maintenance; repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on building systems, equipment, and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to identify issues and implement effective repairs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, staff, and management, and prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact on operations.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of building systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, elevators, and generators, to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, maintenance activities, and equipment performance to facilitate tracking and reporting.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations such as power outages, plumbing leaks, and other critical incidents, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Coordinate with other departments and external contractors as needed to address emergency repairs and ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
- Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks to upkeep the appearance and functionality of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
- Assist with renovations, remodeling projects, and equipment upgrades to enhance the overall guest experience and maintain the competitiveness of our property.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures related to maintenance operations.
Skills
The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide high-level customer service, communicate effectively with guests and team members, follow instructions, learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure when working under pressure.
Technical skills required include solid experience performing repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, general carpentry skills, and knowledge and use of basic hand and power tools.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of general building maintenance or equivalent in a trade profession, with Vocational School Certification preferred.
Pay
The rate of pay for this position is $16.50-$17.00/hour.
