Maintenance Mold Development

About the Role

Responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment systems and programmable logic controls on the Production Equipment. Perform a variety of Production Equipment Maintenance and backup other maintenance personnel on projects as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs involving electrical systems and mechanical components, including observing equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service or replacement.
• Conduct ARC and MIG welding fabrications on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical/electrical system problems such as electrical circuits, controls, motor starters, proximity switches, photo-eyes, PLCs I/O systems, contactors, and relay-based systems using root cause analysis.
• Debug and repair production equipment including 480-3 phase and DC 24 voltage systems, AC/DC circuits, frequency drives, load cells, power distribution, overhead cranes, induction motors, and other machine control components to minimize production downtime.
• Responsible for equipment installations, retrofits, and upgrades on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Set up and operate machine tools and equipment to ensure repairs are done safely and efficiently.
• Maintain department tools and equipment in the maintenance shop and facility.
• Identify and troubleshoot sources of mechanical failure; make recommendations and report problems for future improvements.
• Maintain inventory of equipment spare parts such as busses, controls, and switches.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and keep accurate repair records, including walk-throughs and daily inspections.
• Responsible for building and grounds property upkeep, ensuring clean, neat, and orderly work areas to meet safety and 5S standards.
• Travel occasionally between plants for maintenance tasks across all shifts.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and protocols, including safety and quality assurance.

Requirements

• Completion of an Electrical Technician certification program with a minimum of five years’ hands-on experience.
• Certificate in Equipment Maintenance from a technical school; or two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to operate company vehicles and mobile equipment such as forklifts, reach forks, and scissor lifts.
• Basic welding fabrication skills with ARC, MIG, and TIG.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electro-mechanical and building maintenance.
• Basic computer/PLC troubleshooting skills; understanding of ladder logic is helpful.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, electrical and mechanical drawings/schematics.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence following company guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; proficiency with basic measuring tools.
• Basic computer skills using Windows and Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to walk; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision.

Pay

$26–$30 per hour.
