About the Location

The Cypress Bend facility is located in the historic Mississippi River Delta and produces bleached paperboard and bleached Kraft pulp, used in the production of folding cartons, commercial print paperboard, carded packaging, and cupstock. This facility boasts over 300 talented employees and stretches across 730 acres. Clearwater Paper employees are proud to manufacture a high-quality product for an essential industry.

Cypress Bend is a rural community with close access to the Mississippi River, offering plenty of outdoor activities including fishing, hiking, camping, and biking. Responsibilities

• Maintain machinery throughout the mill to ensure efficient operations and decreased unscheduled machine down-time.
• Proficiently perform at least one of the recognized primary crafts and act as a knowledgeable helper in all other recognized primary crafts:
  • Electrical
  • Instrumentation
  • Pipefitter
  • Millwright
  • Machinist
  • Welder
  • Auto/Diesel Mechanic
  • HVAC
• Change out equipment.
• Safely operate a variety of tools (power, machine shop, gasoline powered, hand tools, etc.).
• Safely operate company vehicles including forklift, overhead crane, and clamp truck.
• Hold self and others to high safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE, safe driving practices, proper lifting techniques, etc.).
• Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root cause.
• Operate, maintain, and inspect equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, procedural reporting, and documentation requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required).
• Minimum 2 years continuous work experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or labor-intensive work environment (preferred) OR recent completion of technical program in Electro/Mechanics or Industrial Electrical programs; associate degrees preferred.
• Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required).
• Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards.
• Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for an entire 12-hour shift.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above, use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.
• Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.
• Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays. Able to work overtime as needed.
