Maintenance Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for reducing unscheduled maintenance, increasing uptime and lowering maintenance costs by developing maintenance capabilities and effectiveness. They will serve as a shared resource for the entire mill when technical expertise or other capabilities are needed to solve problems, support projects, or implement changes. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to safe, respectful, and positive workplace interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on process equipment to improve area process reliability
  • Learn new technology, processes, and equipment and educate other maintenance technicians and operators
  • Assist operations in troubleshooting equipment and processes
  • Maintain necessary documentation (drawings, diagrams, bill of materials, etc.) and communicate repairs to others
  • Perform corrective maintenance on process equipment by performing precision maintenance best practices to optimize equipment life
  • Perform maintenance activities in accordance with all relevant safe work practices such as specified by regulatory guidelines (OSHA, NFPA70E, etc.) and mill safety policy
  • Participate in improvement projects to reduce maintenance costs and reduce process equipment failures

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • For Electricians: Knowledge in motor control circuits, instrumentation, AC & DC drives, electrical power distribution, Allen Bradley PLC software, Honeywell software, I/O devices, pneumatic & hydraulic systems and other industrial electrical systems
  • For Mechanics: Knowledge of industrial process equipment, machine alignment, belt drives, chain drives, installation of roller bearings and drive couplings, machine rolls and other industrial mechanical systems

Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance and repair of industrial equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Pay

Expected Compensation $30.69 - 42.23/hourly rate + benefits
