About the role
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for reducing unscheduled maintenance, increasing uptime and lowering maintenance costs by developing maintenance capabilities and effectiveness. They will serve as a shared resource for the entire mill when technical expertise or other capabilities are needed to solve problems, support projects, or implement changes. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to safe, respectful, and positive workplace interactions.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on process equipment to improve area process reliability
- Learn new technology, processes, and equipment and educate other maintenance technicians and operators
- Assist operations in troubleshooting equipment and processes
- Maintain necessary documentation (drawings, diagrams, bill of materials, etc.) and communicate repairs to others
- Perform corrective maintenance on process equipment by performing precision maintenance best practices to optimize equipment life
- Perform maintenance activities in accordance with all relevant safe work practices such as specified by regulatory guidelines (OSHA, NFPA70E, etc.) and mill safety policy
- Participate in improvement projects to reduce maintenance costs and reduce process equipment failures
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- For Electricians: Knowledge in motor control circuits, instrumentation, AC & DC drives, electrical power distribution, Allen Bradley PLC software, Honeywell software, I/O devices, pneumatic & hydraulic systems and other industrial electrical systems
- For Mechanics: Knowledge of industrial process equipment, machine alignment, belt drives, chain drives, installation of roller bearings and drive couplings, machine rolls and other industrial mechanical systems
Qualifications
- Experience in maintenance and repair of industrial equipment
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills

Expected Compensation $30.69 - 42.23/hourly rate + benefits
