Maintenance Mechanic Trade

Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic Trade position. The Maintenance Mechanic handles all aspects of building maintenance and repairs to include but not limited to HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, Carpentry, and general maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of related trade experience in construction/building maintenance
• Healthcare related maintenance experience preferred

Scheduling Requirements

• Full-Time, Days
• Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM

Essential Functions

• Uses hospital computer based programs to schedule, track, and close scheduled and unscheduled tasks, order materials, complete performance reviews, and document work related issues.
• Communicates with management using methods such as two-way radios, smartphones, and email to address work-related issues.
• Trains troubleshooting skills for electrical systems such as nurse call systems, pneumatic tube systems, automatic doors, automatic gates, TVs, and beds.
• Prepares and installs flooring, acoustical ceiling grid and tiles, wall protection, and finishes work (taped, floated, and ready for paint).
• Replaces refrigeration components, performs monthly tests on emergency power systems, and replaces steam traps, pressure reducing valves, control valves, hot water, chiller water, and steam coils.
• Repairs and replaces pumps, valves, and fittings of all sizes.
