Maintenance Mechanic
About the role
The St. Joseph, MO (Pear Street) Dry Assembly Plant offers competitive starting pay of $32.89/hr. with contractual progression and shift premiums. Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair machinery and facility equipment
- Repair machines, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and replace parts as needed
- Perform electrical, plumbing, heating, and roofing repairs
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints
- Operate precision hand tools and electronic equipment
- Adjust machines for production when necessary
- Maintain and install piping, fittings, valves, gauges, and control systems for hydraulic systems, gas, and air lines
- Set up and operate various machines such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, power saws, welders, etc.
- Make periodic checks of machines and perform preventive maintenance
- Perform carpentry and sheet metal work in fabricating and repairing benches, guards, boxes, trays, etc.
Qualifications
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and working on computerized equipment
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and track workload
- Able to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
- Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: PLC troubleshooting experience
