Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

The St. Joseph, MO (Pear Street) Dry Assembly Plant offers competitive starting pay of $32.89/hr. with contractual progression and shift premiums. Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair machinery and facility equipment
• Repair machines, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and replace parts as needed
• Perform electrical, plumbing, heating, and roofing repairs
• Read and interpret schematics and blueprints
• Operate precision hand tools and electronic equipment
• Adjust machines for production when necessary
• Maintain and install piping, fittings, valves, gauges, and control systems for hydraulic systems, gas, and air lines
• Set up and operate various machines such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, power saws, welders, etc.
• Make periodic checks of machines and perform preventive maintenance
• Perform carpentry and sheet metal work in fabricating and repairing benches, guards, boxes, trays, etc.

Qualifications

• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and working on computerized equipment
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and track workload
• Able to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
• Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: PLC troubleshooting experience
