Maintenance Mechanic Production
Job Requirements
The Maintenance Mechanic - Production for our 2nd/3rd Shift will be responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment and related infrastructure. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, they will assemble, install, test, and maintain production equipment, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools. They will collaborate with Electrical and Automation Technicians, as well as other employees, to maintain equipment and optimize processes. Additionally, they will perform preventive and corrective maintenance while driving equipment improvements. The Maintenance Mechanic - Production for our 2nd/3rd Shift will also partner with support functions to identify and resolve unplanned downtime events, as well as address quality, safety, cost, and other losses in the area using problem-solving techniques and a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities
- Maintains packaging equipment for proper operation, makes adjustments and repairs to optimize machine performance.
- Inspects equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and ensures compliance with codes.
- Observes and diagnoses malfunctioning machines, systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown or operational problem.
- Cleans and lubricates machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Performs preventive maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and improve efficiency.
- Works with other maintenance personnel to troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and productivity.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
