About the Role

Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems, is seeking Maintenance Mechanics for the 2nd shift (5x8) at our Engine Center in Middletown, CT. Join us to help shape the future of aerospace and defense by performing mechanical work to install, inspect, maintain, overhaul, and repair facilities, engine assembly, and test support systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow specific instructions and standard trade practices to obtain tools, materials, and equipment for mechanical systems, control devices, and related equipment.
• Perform component installation, system maintenance, and repair work as assigned, including preventive maintenance and service.
• Assist with complex installation, overhaul, and repair projects, including preparing materials and operating equipment.
• Carry out duties throughout the facility within the scope and skill level of this role.
• Collaborate with other trades on joint projects where skill crossover allows for shared responsibilities.
• Perform additional tasks within the scope and skill level of this job description to support department objectives and individual skill development.

Requirements

• Knowledge of mechanical equipment, mechanisms, hoisting and rigging techniques, and piping systems.
• Ability to read drawings and use mathematics for various measurements.
• Equivalent to 2-3 years of trades training plus 1-2 years of experience.
• Experience operating hand tools and troubleshooting/repairing machines and equipment.
• Some knowledge of carpentry is desired.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program/contract access restrictions.

Priority consideration is given to internal candidates and recall to Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members (District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746).
