Position Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role involves repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment.
Position Responsibilities
- Care and maintenance of all equipment and production assets in a safe, sanitary, and efficient condition.
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned).
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required.
- Observes/inspects mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Safely dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts (LOTO).
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Sets up and operates, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts with proper training and experience.
- Initiate/completes work orders through Maximo for parts and machines.
- Complies with all safety rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have 5 years’ experience in the mechanical field.
- Have experience using the Internet, and spreadsheets, and MRP preferred.
- Certificates pertaining to the job such as: Certified Welding Certificate, Journeyman Machinist Certificate, Boiler Training Certificate & Better Processing School preferred.
- Understanding of Production processing and Quality Control Measurements.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; and write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Work 12-hour variable work schedule with overtime potential, 6-days per week, and working most Sundays.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and comply with all safety policies and requirements.
- The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for staying up to date on new products, equipment, technology, and techniques.
