About the role

The incumbent serves as a Maintenance Mechanic, Work Leader within the Facilities Management Service. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor at the Lake Nona, Lake Baldwin and Viera Clinics. The primary duties include furnishing leadership and direction to a multi-craft team that completes the day-to-day operations maintenance and repairs throughout the OVAHCS Main Campus and off-site business offices for Outpatient Clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Accomplish work assignments within the schedule established by Maintenance & Operations Shop Supervisor and the Maintenance and Operations Foreman.
  • Work with little or no supervision.
  • Review maintenance and repair plans, monitor preventative maintenance work tasks, and inspect daily work tasks performed by Maintenance Shop employees across all campuses.
  • Ensure workers are aware of proper trade techniques and practices and explain safety precautions to be followed while setting up machinery and equipment, and give instruction in the use of layout techniques, power tools, materials, measuring devices, precision instruments, and safety devices.
  • Communicate and answer questions and inquiries of other supervisors and members of the Leadership Team on overall work operations and problems.
  • Work alongside subordinate workers and set the pace for the assigned crew.
  • Lead or supervise the assigned team.
  • Use and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Have technical knowledge of subordinate's trade practices to efficiently lead and work alongside the assigned team.

  • Must have knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, and repair, etc.

  • Ability to Lead or Supervise
  • Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
  • Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.

Schedule

Work Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday 7:00am - 3:30pm, 3:00pm -11:30pm, 11:00pm -7:30am or Sunday to Thursday 7:00am - 3:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm, 11:00pm -7:30am or Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm, 3:00pm - 11:30pm, 11:00pm - 7:30am. Note-Exact TOD for this position will be discussed during the interview and may be adjusted to meet the facility/dept needs.
