Competitive pay range of $80,000 - $95,000 per year. Benefits start immediately. 3rd shift position.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to keep plant property, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition.
• Diagnose problems and work in varied capacities required for general maintenance, overhaul, and repair of plant equipment, processes, and facilities.
• Apply general knowledge of electronics and electrical systems, including basic electrical repairs.
• Plan and schedule plant and equipment maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production and material handling, with supervision from the Plant Manager.
• Coordinate major mechanical, installation, or electrical repairs with outside vendors or Master Maintenance Mechanics as needed.
• Perform diversified duties including pipefitting, welding, fabricating, millwright tasks, assembling, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repair.
• Implement and maintain the division’s preventive maintenance program based on input from the plant manager and manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Train and instruct employees on preventive maintenance activities and procedures.
• Inspect, adjust, clean, and lubricate equipment as part of the preventive maintenance program.
• Maintain and control plant inventory levels for maintenance parts and supplies, ordering parts with supervisor approval.
• Train lesser-skilled maintenance personnel on proper work methods and safety procedures.
• Maintain plant equipment and maintenance records to meet Gerdau and OSHA safety and quality compliance standards.
• Diagnose malfunctions by sight, sound, or actions of plant equipment and determine corrective actions, including seeking vendor assistance.
• Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories.
• Develop and fabricate accessory fixtures or guards for machines and equipment.
• Adjust machine mechanisms such as feed, speed, power input, or output.
• Direct and coordinate production employees involved in maintenance repairs.
• Perform machining (turning, milling, grinding, drilling) of parts for maintenance and production.
• Utilize basic computer operator skills for work-related tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills.
• 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Flexibility to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Ability to work 3rd shift: 6 PM to 6 AM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
• Desire to learn.
