Maintenance Mechanic L4

About the role

This position’s primary objective is to reduce maintenance costs and improve equipment reliability through the implementation of a predictive maintenance and inspections program. To ensure that all plant equipment and facilities are inspected, maintained and repaired on a timely and cost‑effective basis. The incumbent shall be highly concerned for the safety of him/herself and co‑workers and follow all safety rules, procedures and processes. To serve as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous improvement, safety and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with the company’s vision.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to align couplings and sprockets using proper tools, laser or dial indicators.
• Distinguish types of bearings and properly remove and replace them.
• Properly use all types of measuring devices such as micrometers and dial indicators.
• Properly and safely use Oxygen/Acetylene equipment.
• Have knowledge of general conveyor belt maintenance such as mechanical splices, aligning and adjusting belts.
• Be familiar with different types of welding equipment and be able to properly use them (welder test required).
• Identify different types of metal.
• Properly and safely operate forklifts
