About the role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and improve heavy steel processing equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on mechanic who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, reducing downtime, and improving long-term equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, chains, sprockets, couplings, and power transmission equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Perform precision alignment on motors, pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
• Replace bearings, seals, shafts, rollers, and other mechanical components.
• Complete preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor machining as needed.
• Read mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and OEM manuals.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow all safety and Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience in steel processing, stamping, or heavy manufacturing preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, and power transmission systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Ability to work independently and respond calmly to production-related equipment issues.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 80 pounds and work around heavy machinery, heights, tight spaces, and dusty environments.
