About the role

As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you will maintain production equipment such as CNC machines, grinders, die cast machines, heat treating ovens, and paint lines. You will adjust and repair equipment, assist in producing tooling and dies to meet production needs, and perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the team by performing repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of equipment found in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repair of CNC machinery, heat treat furnaces, and other industrial equipment.
  • Assists in the movement of machines, fixtures, materials, and equipment as required.
  • Reads and understands schematics, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Troubleshoots, rebuilds, and repairs all plant equipment for pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and minor electrical malfunctions.
  • Performs sheet metal work for the construction of guards, ducting, spouts, etc.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of the functions and operations of all plant equipment and machinery to provide effective operation and efficient maintenance.
  • Ability to work and positively contribute to a team environment.
  • Performs all work according to Company safety policies, recognized industry standards, and safe practices.

Requirements

  • A valid state-registered Journey Worker's card in the Maintenance Mechanic Trade or a minimum of 8 years documented experience in the Mechanic Trade in Manufacturing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Robots, Mazak CNC machinery, hydraulics, and pneumatically controlled equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance-related blueprints, schematics, sketches, and drawings.
  • Ability to use the tools and measuring devices common to the Maintenance Mechanic's Trade.
  • Basic working knowledge of electricity, welding, hydraulic, and mechanical functions.
  • Ability to plan and lay out work to be performed and determine the most efficient method to complete assignments with only occasional supervision.
  • Ability to train, instruct, guide, and supervise the work of apprentices in the development of skills and abilities.

Working Conditions

  • Works on the manufacturing floor and around active production equipment, including exposure to moving mechanical parts and energized equipment.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels; exposure to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and heat depending on the process.
  • Occasional work in confined spaces or elevated areas, depending on equipment and plant layout.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands for tools, parts, and controls.
  • Reaching, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Strong vision capabilities (close, distance, depth perception, peripheral vision) to safely work on machinery.

Pay

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $42.15 per hour. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
