Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, 3rd Shift

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician provides maintenance support across all areas of operation and helps ensure safe, efficient, and reliable equipment performance. This role supports standard operating and production procedures, safety, quality control, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Maintenance Department.

Responsibilities

• Support and adhere to Parker’s Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment, including programmable controls, numerical controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and/or test equipment.
• Plan and perform work requiring knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, wiring specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and/or operation and application of electronic equipment.
• Install, start up, and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Advise operators and line mechanics on safe operating procedures and requirements for working with electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and components.
• Inform appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical or mechanical issues and related safety risks.
• Maintain required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities as directed.
• Perform or assist with fabrication, preventive maintenance, and routine machine checks.
• Aid in training maintenance, technical, and other team members, including support for new and existing associate training.
• Participate in team-based continuous improvement projects and Kaizen activities, including standardized work improvements, cost-reduction initiatives, and other improvement activities.
• Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through 5S activities, proper material storage, and appropriate waste disposal.
• Support long-term planning related to major projects, equipment installation, and property improvements.
• Complete all required reporting and paperwork accurately and on time.
• Remain receptive to training and perform functions in multiple areas as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team members, operators, maintenance personnel, and management using verbal and written communication skills.
• Prioritize personal safety and the safety of team members in all work activities.
• Function successfully within a High Performance Team (HPT) environment and adapt effectively to change.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and related systems.
• Follow and write PLC ladder logic to make appropriate machinery changes.
• Connect to and troubleshoot PLC systems, including but not limited to Allen-Bradley, DirectSOFT, and Productivity Suite.
• Wire new machinery and support equipment installation activities.
• Perform work independently with minimal supervision while meeting assigned objectives.
• Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required:
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 5+ years maintenance experience required
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication
• Ability to work safely and follow company procedures, including OSHA-related requirements
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

• Industrial Maintenance certification or degree
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming
• Experience wiring new machinery
• Experience supporting continuous improvement, Kaizen, or 5S activities
