Maintenance Mechanic II (Full Time)

Position Duties & Essential Functions

• Responsible for general maintenance on Zoo & Aquarium buildings, animal exhibits and guest areas, including basic repairs, painting and building basic structures.
• Assists other maintenance staff with completion of generated work orders related to a variety of mechanical trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, HVAC, etc.
• Assists maintenance manager in implementing and executing preventive maintenance programs.
• Assists with snow removal during winter months.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education & Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years general maintenance or carpentry experience desired.
• Knowledge: Experience using various power tools and maintenance equipment.

• Other Minimum Requirements: Valid driver’s license, ability to lift 75 pounds, sufficient mobility, ability to stand for extended periods, climb, bend and stoop, flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evening hours, and ability to work in all weather extremes.
