Maintenance Mechanic II (DAY SHIFT)

About the Role

Performs general maintenance and specialized maintenance required by a specific trade discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties and maintain all areas according to their specialty, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
• Apply general job knowledge and experience in varied areas such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and painting.
• Plan and prioritize assigned work to meet departmental needs.
• Interact with residents respectfully and reassuringly while performing required duties.
• Work as a team within the department and collaborate with other departments.
• Work with and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Assist in snow removal.
• Help cover the on-call schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational technical graduate preferred.
• At least two years in a trade or four years of building maintenance experience.
• Valid State of Connecticut driver’s license.

Schedule

Day shift, 40 hours per week.
