Maintenance Mechanic I

Mechanicsburg Area School District is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I. This is a full-time position (52 weeks per year, 8 hours per day).

About the role

Performs routine maintenance on school buildings, grounds, and equipment as directed by the Facilities Director. Assists Maintenance Mechanic II staff with complex maintenance tasks when needed. Responsible for various cleaning assignments in the school district as needed.

Responsibilities

• General carpentry
• Minor plumbing
• Minor electrical work
• Painting
• General maintenance tasks

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Skills in the use of basic hand and power tools
• Knowledge of general maintenance procedures
• Ability to perform basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical tasks

Clearances

All candidates must provide the following clearances before employment: valid Criminal History Record Clearance, Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Clearance, Act 168 form(s), and I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) form.
