About the role
As the Maintenance Mechanic, you will be helping with the day-to-day operation of the machinery repairs and preventive maintenance. You will also monitor our water systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair equipment.
- Complete preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Respond to building and equipment emergencies/outages and perform quality checks.
- Document and maintain maintenance records.
- Take an active role in all lean initiatives as it relates to maintenance.
- Keep tools and equipment in good condition.
- Know the occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Document the issues in the maintenance system.
Requirements
- 5-10 years hands-on mechanical experience.
- High School Education.
- Commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
- Basic knowledge of large HP mechanical drive systems including gear box reducers, belt and pulley, and chain and sprocket.
- Excellent mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical power transmission components i.e. belts, chains, sprockets, bearings, and shaft couplings.
- Knowledge of pumps, valves and piping.
- Ability to run a Bridgeport, lathe and basic welding skills.
- The ability to work with the other employees in the maintenance dept as well as machine operators to implement projects and process improvements.
- The ability to work independently and make decisions.
- The ability to follow direction and work in a safe and effective manner.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of electricity (a plus).
- Quickly generate unique and creative solutions to technical challenges.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Education.
- Experience: 5-10 years hands-on mechanical experience.
- Skills: Ability to read mechanical blueprints, identify parts, and research part numbers; basic knowledge of large HP mechanical drive systems; excellent mechanical troubleshooting skills; knowledge of basic mechanical power transmission components; knowledge of pumps, valves, and piping; ability to run a Bridgeport, lathe, and basic welding skills; ability to work with other employees in the maintenance department and machine operators to implement projects and process improvements; ability to work independently and make decisions; ability to follow direction and work in a safe and effective manner; basic computer skills; basic knowledge of electricity (a plus); quick generation of unique and creative solutions to technical challenges.

Hourly Range: $29.00 - $40.00

- Training shift: Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:00pm
