Maintenance Mechanic/Filter Technician

a Sign-on Bonus Of $4,081 Is Available For The Successful Applicant Of This Position Paid In 2 Installments Within 12 Months Of Hire $2,040.50 WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE DATE & $2,040.50 12 MONTHS AFTER HIRE DATE. Changes filters for a broad range of HVAC systems, which includes operating a box truck in congested areas of campus, maintaining the filter warehouse, planning monthly and daily filter needs, and properly handling a high volume of both clean and dirty filters. Other responsibilities include taking the lead in modifying established schedules as environmental conditions (e.g., pollen, construction dust) and other issues arise, documenting all activities per university requirements, performing preventive maintenance (PM) checks (e.g., adjust drive belt tension) and cleaning HVAC equipment such as air handlers, exhaust fans, pumps, and air compressors; and performing troubleshooting and making repairs to HVAC equipment, and assisting higher level mechanics and technicians with complex issues.
