Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

Stepan is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Columbus, Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Provides maintenance support to plant equipment, systems, and building.
• Performs a variety of recurring and non-recurring tasks/functions.
• Tests, troubleshoots, renovates, overhauls, replaces, and performs preventive maintenance on standard mechanical / electrical systems and housekeeping.
• Runs minor mechanical or electrical projects.
• Performs general facility equipment maintenance on a daily basis, according to the Maintenance schedule, for mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Performs general facility equipment basic troubleshooting and repairs on a daily basis, as needed, for mechanical equipment.
• Performs any emergency repair activity assigned by the Maintenance Planner or the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Performs equipment calibrations.

Requirements

• 1 – 3 years experience as an industrial mechanic.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma – Preferred
• 2 Years Technical Degree.

Skills

• Electrical troubleshooting and installation are not required but preferred.
