- Perform routine inspections, adjustments, lubrication, repairs, and maintenance on production machinery, packaging equipment, and facility systems
- Support Production with equipment changeovers, troubleshooting, upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement activities
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform safe, timely repairs to minimize production downtime
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to the established schedule and applicable procedures
- Evaluate, prioritize, and communicate maintenance needs based on safety, production impact, and equipment condition
- Document labor, repairs, parts used, equipment condition, and follow-up actions accurately in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and other departments as needed
- Seek guidance from a Team Leader or Manager before performing an unfamiliar task or assignment
- Maintain assigned work areas, tools, parts, and materials in a safe, clean, organized, and efficient condition
- Report on time and being available for occasional overtime when required, with reasonable notice whenever practical
- Reliable and regular attendance
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Demonstrate willingness to cross-train and learn other job functions

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring tools, and common maintenance equipment. Machining and welding experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of CMMS software, including documenting completed work and identifying follow-up actions
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase equipment operating up to 480 volts preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical processing equipment, mixers, pumps, conveyors, and packaging machinery
- Working knowledge of electric motors and basic industrial controls, including starters, relays, contactors, overloads, sensors, and VFD fault identification. Full PLC programming knowledge is not required
- Working knowledge of industrial plumbing and piping systems
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond effectively to urgent maintenance needs
- Willingness to learn new equipment, procedures, and maintenance responsibilities
- Recognize the limits of personal training and authorization and seek guidance before performing unfamiliar or higher risk work
- Ability to prioritize work, troubleshoot methodically, and work independently (with limited supervision during a shift such as 2nd)
- Ability to complete work orders, inspection records, and reports clearly, accurately, and completely
- Ability to safely operate a forklift, scissor lift, order picker, pallet jack, and other powered industrial equipment after required training and authorization
Experience And Education
- Five (5) years of successful industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with operating machinery and packaging equipment required
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Maintenance experience in chemical, plastics, adhesives, coatings, or a related process-manufacturing environment preferred
- Technical or trade-school training in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, mechanical systems, welding, machining, or a related field preferred
- Experience using Windows-based software and CMMS, with the ability to enter and retrieve maintenance information
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production equipment, packaging equipment, facility systems, and grounds. Support safe and reliable operation of the Macungie manufacturing site.
