General Description
A Maintenance Mechanic is proficient and fully capable of servicing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing the various mechanical systems, equipment and components onsite. Independently perform a wide range of mechanical functions including pipe fitting, pump and valve rebuilds, millwright tasks, general repair and replacement activities, other assigned activities. Pay range $31.67 usd / hour - $40.11/hr based on experience and meeting skill testing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in a safe manner to continuously improve the site safety performance
- Maintain, install, test and service SI Group’s assets
- Perform Lockout/Tagout and other energy isolation activities as appropriate
- Provide accurate and timely communications to supervisors and colleagues on job status, issues
- Maintains appropriate equipment records and documents utilizing the CMMS (SAP-PM)
- Utilize E-mail, Intranet and CMMS systems for info and communication regarding assigned job duties
- Achieve acceptable housekeeping of all work areas
- Proper care and safeguarding of SI Group equipment, tools and information
- Understand and abides by all SI GROUP policies, including the Global Code of Conduct
- PRACTICE Responsible Care 14001 through active participation in MOC’, PHA’s and PSM’s
- REPORT all injuries, illnesses, spills, and other incidents per instructions, SOP’s and policies
- Ensuring all SOP’s and assigned CBT’s (Computer Based Training’s) are completed on time
- Performs all work in a safe manner
- Participates in permitting and risk assessments
- Participate in all Quality, Safety, Environmental, Productivity, or Health initiatives / audits
- Performs other tasks assigned by the Manager, Supervisor or Work Leader
Ideal Requirements & Qualifications
- Mechanic definition: Fully capable in service and repair of process piping and mechanical systems
- Gear drive trouble-shooting and repair
- Proficient in using Mechanical Specifications
- Certified in at least one trade skill; welding or carpentry or millwright or mechanic
- Able to rebuild and install pumps and install mechanical seals
- Skillful at layout and installation of threaded and welded pipe
- A PLUS for capabilities in trouble-shooting and repair of any of the following: steam supply, cooling water, vessel heating & cooling, flaker belts, inert blanket & venting, and fire protection systems
