Maintenance Mechanic
Job Overview
RWJBarnabas Health is hiring for a Per Diem Maintenance Mechanic for Jersey City Medical Center. This is a Full-Time Day position.
Qualifications
- High School graduate and on-the-job or formal training equivalent to a related program in an accredited vocational school.
- 3–5 years' experience; must be directly related to the general maintenance field preferable within a large healthcare facility or a commercial institution.
- Must possess and maintain a valid N.J. State Driver’s License.
Scheduling Requirements
Per-Diem, Day Shift
Essential Functions
- Performs general maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment facility in a technically approved, safe and efficient manner.
- Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc
- Performs a wide variety of maintenance duties in and around the buildings of the Medical Center complex.
- Occasionally assists tradesmen and other workmen in completing tasks. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment safely and effectively.
- Affords assistance in removing snow from facility's grounds and maintaining grounds as required.
