Maintenance Mechanic

Summary/Objective

The maintenance mechanic position conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.

JOB DUTIES

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs of production equipment
• Maintain Preventative Maintenance records
• Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs
• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• MS Word, Excel, Outlook a plus, Basic Computer skills
• Use computerized system for work orders / timesheets (minimal)
• Order or create requisitions to maintain key parts and supplies to maintain smooth operation of the Plant
• Communicate with vendors and oversee contractors working onsite
• Fabrication, welding and cutting
• Drive Forklift (Forklift Maintenance is a plus)
• Some overtime hours as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to occasionally life and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to frequently walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to occasionally bend, squat and/or stoop
• Frequently works near or around moving mechanical parts
• Exposed to a high level of noise in the work environment
• Exposed to airborne particles
• Work environment Wood processing, manufacturing operation
• Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including variations in temperature and precipitation

Required Experience

2+ years of related experience in production machines.
